The Story
Tour Guys (.ca) was founded by Steve Woodall (left) and Jason Kucherawy (right). The guys met while working for Breakaway Tours and Impact Educational Tours in Toronto about ten years ago, and spent years becoming awesome tour guides and great friends along the way. Together they decided to start Tour Guys as a tour guide cooperative, offering free walking tours as a way to have some fun, work with their tour guide friends, and meet people from around the world! The free tours were only the beginning…

Jason lives in Toronto and Steve now lives in Vancouver. Although they are seperated by thousands of kilometers, they have a lot in common. Both have spent years leading tours to many different destinations, have extensive experience working with teenagers, ESL students and international travelers of all ages, and they share a similar love for guiding tours.

The Tour Guys Team
Working with Steve and Jason in each city is a small team of guides. Capable, charismatic, and dynamic – we couldn’t be happier with the job they do. They are a mix of professional tour guides, comedians, actors, history buffs, teachers, storytellers, and world travelers. Steve, Jason and the other guides are all in their 20s and 30s. With Tour Guys you get youthful energy, enthusiasm, wit and wisdom!

Free Tours!
Jason, Steve, and their select tour guide friends offer some scheduled walking tours of Toronto and Vancouver for FREE! Their tours are fun, informative, and quite likely the best free walking tour you’ll ever take. They are very good at what they do.

Tour Guys are not paid for these tours by any third party, business or government office. We’re an independent guide cooperative and we don’t answer to anyone. And that’s how we like it.

The Tours That Cost $
Tour Guys offers other tours, besides the free ones, which are offered as a tour on a semi-regular basis, or by request in advance. These are not free tours, but are priced to be affordable. If you really enjoyed your tour, an additional gratuity to your guide is the best way to say “thanks!”

Other Services – Private and Group Tours, and More!
Both Steve and Jason are tour and travel professionals who know not only Toronto and Vancouver, but many other cities in Canada and the USA! The Tour Guys are able to provide tour and travel services for trips lasting anywhere from a few hours to many days in length. We are also experienced tour guide trainers, and travel consultants available for hire as freelance contractors.

Tour Guide Coaching and Training
Leading tours is a difficult job. Jason and Steve not only lead tours, but train others how to be excellent guides. It’s more than just learning the facts and how to get from “A” to “B”. Customer service, teaching techniques, speaking skills, body language, group logistics, challenges posed by demographic and cultural variation within or between tour groups – there is a lot more to being a tour guide than just walking and talking.

If you work for a company that hires and trains tour guides or tour directors, we can offer supplimental training in a variety of areas to improve the overall quality of your guide team.
