Can you provide transportation services?

Show Answer

Tour Guys is not a transportation service. Instead, we give awesome walking tours! As professional walkers and talkers, we can’t pick you up from the airport or drive you around town, but we can show you the coolest hidden parts of our cities and tell you the stories behind them. Check out our free walking tours (Vancouver and Toronto) and our private tours (Vancouver and Toronto).

Are tours kid friendly?

Show Answer

While we don’t hold back when explaining the sometimes dark and gruesome history of Canada, we do encourage families to join our tours. Tour Guys are experts at reading a room, so to speak, and will choose their words carefully without censoring history.

What happens if it rains?

Show Answer

Our tours run rain or shine! We don’t cancel due to inclement weather. If you choose not to take a free tour for which you’ve reserved a spot, please contact us in advance to let us know.

What happens if I’m running late?

Show Answer

If you’re more than 10 minutes late, you will miss the tour, and due to each guide’s unique route, you won’t be able to catch up with us. As we would love for you to join us, please aim to arrive at the tour’s meeting point on time! As our mums say, “Early is on time, on time is late, and late just won’t do.”

Are the free walking tours really free?

Show Answer

They’re really, truly free with a single caveat: tips! Whereas comparable tours will charge you $20-$30 per person plus a tip, we ask that you provide your guide with only a gratuity. The average tip per person is $10, but feel free to tip more if you loved the tour! If you hated it, we’d appreciate your suggestions on how we could improve. Please simply write them on the back of a $50 bill!

Is it free to reserve a spot on a free tour?

Show Answer

Yes! We ask that you reserve your spot so that we have an idea of how many guides to send out on each tour. Our free tours don’t require any payment up-front; we only request that you tip your guide at the end if you enjoyed it!

I see that tour endpoints differ from meeting points. How will I get back to where the tour began?

Show Answer

Guides happily stick around for a few minutes after each tour to give recommendations for things to do and see in the area and to help direct you to your next destination.
