Waterfront - Gastown (2 hours)

See Itinerary

Explore Vancouver’s Waterfront neighbourhood. Beginning at Canada place, we’ll venture to the Marine Building where we’ll appreciate this stunningly ornate art-deco structure. Continuing our appreciation of Waterfront architecture, we’ll head to the Vancouver Convention Center, which is the world´s only platinum certified LEED convention centre and home to TED Talks. This stop is the perfect place to learn about Vancouver’s efforts in sustainability and its goal to be the Greenest City on Earth in 2020. Moving on, we’ll see significant works of public art, take in the breathtaking views over Stanley Park, Burrard Inlet, North Shore Mountains and more from Seawall, and visit the Olympic Cauldron.

Next, we’ll head into Gastown, Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhood. Once a rough part of town, Gastown has been revitalised and, for better or worse, gentrified. We’ll catch you up on Gastown’s role from Vancouver’s early days as a site of lawlessness and tumult to its present status as a vibrant neighbourhood beloved by locals for its culinary scene, boutiques, galleries, and preserved Victorian architecture.

Gastown & Chinatown (2 hours)

See Itinerary

Beginning in Chinatown, we’ll explore the multicultural side of Vancouver. Hear about the storied past of Shanghai Alley and stop into a bakery or grocery to experience the sounds and smells of this vibrant neighbourhood. We’ll then leave the hustle and bustle of Chinatown’s streets behind as we head into the tranquil Dr. Sun Yat-Sen park & beautiful gardens.

We’ll continue our tour into Gastown, where the city was born around a mill, but raised around a bar. At Waterfront Station, learn how the city was founded on a bribe and the railway ruled supreme. After a century of industrial rise and decline the area was almost scrapped for a freeway in the 1970s, but persevered and thrived thrived in this complex, engaging, and always entertaining area of the city.
