Power, Politics, and the PATH

On this 90-minute tour of downtown Toronto, see the city’s most important landmarks, explore our favorite hidden corners, and hear the stories behind these significant sites. Starting at Union Station, the primary hub of Toronto transit and busiest train station in Canada, we’ll head north into The Financial District. Walking past the tallest skyscrapers in Canada and the headquarters of most of the nation’s banks and financial institutions as well as the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE), your guide will explain Toronto’s growth as the financial capital of Canada.

Part of the walk (or nearly all of it, if the weather is bad) will utilize the famous PATH, Toronto’s “underground city” – 25+km of interconnected hallways, corridors, and atriums filled with shops, services and food courts that serve the workforce in the office towers above. It connects all the subway stations and key buildings downtown!

While this tour hits the highlights of downtown Toronto, your guide will also show you his or her favourite spots along the way, which vary from guide to guide. The tour will conclude with a stop at both Old City Hall and the current City Hall and the famous Toronto sign, where there are often community events and cultural festivals throughout the warmer months.
